I wish I could go to that exhibit. Do you have a link to a site that has more than place-and-time information? I did a quick search but got mostly calendar listings.
One thing that caught my eye was how similar some of the masks are to the African masks I have on my walls. Were these made by patients? Family members? Contemporary, anyhow? In any event, great, evocative photos.
Linda -- I don't know much about the exhibit other than it was sponsored by the arts cooperative and put on by a local mental health group. The artwork was done by patients or family members, I understand. I wanted to photograph it as it moved me on a personal level, so some of the images were texturized.
