I really like the other rodeo series better, and I prefer last year's Westernaires photos to this group. I don't think it has anything to do with the photography - it's the danged costumes. Smiley faces just don't make me smile - although they're useful for conveying emotion. ;-)
The horses seem to be giving you sideways glances that say, "If I had a choice about this, they wouldn't be wearing that stuff...."
Linda -- Last year's Westernaires were better in my opinion, but this year's rodeo was very odd. The bullwhippers couldn't hit their targets, steers couldn't get wrestled, heifers refused to be saddled, ropers couldn't rope, the clown couldn't raise a laugh and the photographer was off his feed. The only genuine action was the stick horse race. I only hope the second night was more productive than the first, but I missed it entirely and without regrets.

Amazing action shots. Skillful. My favorite are all the blue flags and costumes. Splits is great too.

But the horses are beautiful, every single one.

And you got the sky you wanted. Beautiful light. The portrait next to last is perfect.
