Please tell that brown pelican to stay put, as long as he can. No matter how much his southern relatives beg, he needs to stay right there. Life isn't too good for pelicans down here right now....
The dragonflies are lovely. We have tiny ones that pop out mid-summer along creekbeds, with fluorescent red and blue coloring. I like them better than the big ones that sound like B-52s!
Linda -- I'm sure the pelican is better off in Kansas than the Gulf, at least for now. I read in the paper that next week a local group is staging a protest against BP--in Marysville, Kansas! Symbolic only, I'm afraid, and I wonder how the local BP gas station will fare.
