Linda -- Odd you should ask. I have no idea why those particular rags are in the basement of the news office. Every time I go down there I'm struck at how bright the colors are. I'll have to ask my editor about them.
The rags were used to clean some sort of chemical off of the metal plates burned from negatives for printing projects. They've been down there a while even though we got rid of the print shop almost a year ago... I knew I didn't throw them away for a reason - I was waiting for them to be art!!

The blue/green is gorgeous. The mixing and shading of the colors makes me think of turquoise.
I always want to know: what IS that? Mold? Something paper that's gotten wet and faded? Wonderful, whatever it is.
