I vaguely remember a terrible Midwestern flood that I THINK was in the fall - maybe Thanksgiving time. Was that the 1993 flood?
I do remember the Kansas City flood of 1951. We were visiting relatives on the north side of KC and nearly didn't get out. They opened the bridge briefly and away we went - I still can remember looking out and seeing the rail cars floating. I was about five at the time.
Linda -- 1993 and 1951 were the big years for flooding here. We were visiting in 1993 and saw firsthand the amount of water -- our town was lakefront property. Impressive, but we all hope never to see it again.
