Blue jay in the hoarfrost. Awesome, Tom.
Every one a winner - is that "the" bicycle? And there's the cairn...Everyone but everyone photographs cardinals in the snow - your jay is just as stunning. Maybe more so. His white feather tips are perfectly framed in the frost. As for the bunny ~ well, anyone who hangs out here learns to love the bunnies.A great series.
The crisscross of black and white branches with the splash of blue from the jay make that picture pretty special.
This is now, officially, my favorite blog.
Wow, the comments really floored me. Came at a dark time, too -- you guys (and gals) don't know how much they meant. Can I admit here that I tried for a shot of a female cardinal in the tree and she flew away before I could line her up, and then the jay landed and, well, the rest is history. Unfortunately shot through the dirty window, ugh.
