What is it about Victorians and dead things? Wonderful analogy -- I might have to ruminate a while on the link. Anyway, the black and white is a butterfly, a checkered white, no doubt wondering when spring is coming. My wife also pointed out the flowers aren't mums, but zinnias! (I am better at identifying birds and butterflies than flowers, alas.)
Photographs displayed on my site are now for sale in selected sizes, either matted or print only for those who wish for more color options when matting/framing. For more information, contact me via e-mail through a link found in my profile. All photos printed on archival paper.

Beautiful. The larger version especially feels Victorian to me - all of those dead flowers under glass, I suppose.
The bit of black and white that's lighted there is a nice(?) reminder of the coming winter.
